A flutist, composer, arranger, recording artist, Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music, Flute Faculty at Brookline Music School, and a Jazz Flute Committee Member at the National Flute Association of the USA, Yağmur Soydemir has received numerous awards in international solo flute and chamber music competitions across Europe and the USA. She has performed with more than twenty prominent symphony orchestras across Turkey, Europe, and the USA, in addition to delivering many solo and chamber music performances on live stages, radio, and television programs.
 

Expanding her expertise in classical music for over 20 years, she frequently performs with her own jazz band and in jazz big bands at prestigious venues, including the MGM Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Berklee Performance Center, Harvard Club of Boston and Neidorff-Karpati Hall, as well as performing annually at the Turkish National Day Ceremonies hosted by the Boston Turkish Consulate, at the Boston Turkish Consulate’s Residency, the Turkish Consulate in New York City, and in the Massachusetts and Rhode Island State Houses.
 

As a composer and arranger, Yağmur’s original works have been performed by small ensembles and orchestras with notable performances in Turkey and the USA.
 

In addition to her musical endeavors, she has volunteered for community service programs supporting orphans in Ankara, Turkey, and has led children’s choirs as a conductor. In Boston, she has performed in numerous Outreach Concerts and co-produced the Earthquake Relief Project for Türkiye, a collaborative initiative to raise donations for earthquake victims in Türkiye, which brought together eighty musicians from thirty different countries and was released in partnership with Berklee Productions.
 

She earned a Bachelor's Degree in “Flute Performance” from the Nice Conservatory in France, studied her first Master’s Degree in “Flute Performance” at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, followed by a “Professional Diploma” with a dual major in “Contemporary Writing & Production” and “Jazz Performance” from Berklee College of Music, and later completed another Master’s Degree in “Global Jazz” at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, where she was awarded a full-tuition scholarship twice.
 

Her professional experience also includes roles at Berklee College of Music as a “Rating Auditions Assistant” in the Ensemble Department, “Graduate Assistant” at the Berklee Global Jazz Institute, and “Project Assistant (Studio Recording Artist)” at the Berklee Film Scoring Studio Orchestra in the Screen Scoring Department.
 

Currently, beyond performing, composing, arranging, and recording in studios, Yağmur is a dedicated educator, offering both online and in-person flute instruction.
